About Me

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I studied at the Psychosynthesis Trust and before that undertook a person-centred counselling training. My journey to becoming a therapist is a winding road, I initially studied at Norwich School of Art and Design, incorporating visual art, creative writing and cultural theory on a Cultural Studies BA. This interdisciplinary training encouraged the critical examination of culture and cultural texts (books, films, art works etc) through the lenses of identity, race, ethnicity and gender, using theoretical and philosophical modals and artistic responses.

Later I trained in art for therapeutic purposes and began running workshops for people seeking greater connection to their creativity, authenticity and spontaneity, participants were often practicing artists who found themselves stuck or, wounded creatives, people who had been told they weren’t ‘artistic’.

Over the years these groups became more interpersonal and process based so I trained as a counsellor initially in a person centred modality and then eventually at the Psychosynthesis Trust.

Alongside this I have spent many years working with children, young people, people who are neurodivergent and people with learning disabilities using art and creativity as a medium to explore their struggles and sense of wellbeing and identity.
